George Washington's headquarters

The top photo is of the house that served as George Washington's headquarters in Valley Forge. The second is the stable where his horse lived.

These are the cabins that his bodyguards (called lifeguards at the time) lived behind his house.

Most of the architecture in the house is original, including the wood railings and the cabinetry. I loved the way this cabinet was built.

Washington was somewhere between 6'4" and 6'6"... a very tall man. That is interesting, but even more incredible is how TINY his bed was! It was maybe 5 feet long. Can you imagine what it must have felt like to sleep on it???
